The observed starter route begins with clams, the Iron Fishing Rod and a first catch, then introduces bait, the Spider Crab and a boat journey.
1. Make the first sale before shopping
Start with the clam collection and selling task. Follow its pointer to learn where the Fish Buyer stands, then complete the Iron Fishing Rod purchase step. Learning that short trip between the water and the buyer makes the next few tasks easier.
- Pick up the clams requested by the tutorial and sell them.
- Follow the next objective to buy and equip the Iron Fishing Rod.
- Face open water and look for the casting prompt.
Move on when the tutorial asks you to catch a fish and the rod is equipped.
2. Finish the whole catch
A fish on the line is only part of the job. Begin the cast, release it into the water and wait for a bite. When the reeling prompt appears, use the shown input until the catch lands. The tutorial then asks you to drop the fish and beat it up.
- Drop the live catch onto land.
- Defeat it before it escapes back into deep water.
- Take the catch to the Fish Buyer and complete the sale.
Move on after the selling task clears. Buying more gear will not complete an unfinished catch task.
3. Follow the bait tasks in order
The next bait tasks introduce Normal Bait and then Bloxy Cola Bait. Read the active objective and check the bait you are using before casting. An ordinary catch does not necessarily complete a task that names a particular bait.
- Buy Normal Bait when the tutorial requests it.
- Use it for the required catch.
- Continue to the Bloxy Cola Bait fishing task.
4. Keep the Crab Body for the keeper
The bait sequence leads into the Spider Crab boss objective. Check your hunger before starting and keep the active task visible during the encounter. Afterward, keep the Crab Body for the Lighthouse Keeper: handing it over is the Special Delivery badge objective.
Do not treat the Crab Body as an ordinary fish sale.
Continue when your current objective sends you to the boat.
5. Make the first crossing
Ride the boat and follow the visible objective trail toward Island 2. On arrival, follow the Small Burrito Bait task; the tutorial later asks you to buy a pistol or shotgun. Finish the current task before deciding what to buy next.
Your next checkpoint is reaching Island 2 and seeing its first bait objective.
